Steve Mortinger is a VP & Associate General Counsel for IBM’s Systems and Technology Group. He has responsibility for IBM's virtual worlds policies and is co-chair of the ABA IP section's Special Committee on Computer Gaming and Virtual Worlds. Steve headed up the IBM cross- functional team that created IBM’s Virtual Worlds Guidelines for employees.

Steve is additionally responsible for IBM's policy on Linux and open source and for providing legal support to IBM’s business partner channels, IBM’s OEM sales team and to various other headquarters functions.

Prior to this, Steve was the first IBM lawyer supporting the Engineering & Technology Services group in IBM where he negotiated the chip design agreements for the Nintendo Wii and Xbox360 gaming consoles, among other things.

Steve started with IBM supporting the Enterprise Systems Division in Poughkeepsie, NY.
